Aston Shaw’s National Apprenticeship Week Pledge

April 2015

Aston Shaw pledge to take on at least 10 new apprentices in 2015

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2015 runs from Monday, 9th March to Friday, 13th March. The week is designed to celebrate — as well as promote — apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the economy.

At Aston Shaw we are aware of the positive impacts that apprenticeships have, we have seen first hand how recruiting apprentices has been beneficial to both our business, and other businesses that we work with. This is why we fully support the ambitions this week sets out to achieve.

Last year, we enjoyed significant growth from hiring 17 apprentices across all 5 of our offices. Keen to keep the momentum going, we pledge to hire an additional 10 apprentices this year.

NAW is all about increasing people’s awareness of apprenticeships, many aren’t aware of the scope apprenticeships have these days. Previously, apprenticeships were only really available for those seeking to learn a trade, but now a massive 1,500 different apprenticeships are on offer in more than 170 industries. It is pushing statistics such as these that are what this week is all about.

We are committed to fulfilling our pledge of hiring 10 apprentices in 2015. We would encourage all employees to take advantage of the apprenticeship scheme to help young people kick start their career.
