Staff Training Hard for Run Norwich 2019

June 2019

With Run Norwich just around the corner, Aston Shaw staff are busy training for the big day.

As sponsors of Run Norwich, many staff members were keen to take part in the event. In this blog, some members of the Aston Shaw team will be sharing how they’re going about training for the highly anticipated 10km through the city.

“I like to think I have a reasonable level of fitness as I play football at least twice a week. However, football fitness and long-distance is different so I’m currently running most evenings to beat my PB from last year. I don’t really have a plan, I just run until I can’t run any further and then I call it a day and go home, eat chocolate and then regret it.

Nicola Mosely, Business Consultant, is also training hard for Run Norwich:

“Having never really done much running, finishing Run Norwich is a personal challenge I’ve set myself. As a mum, finding the time to get out and go running is difficult to say the least. However, when an opportunity does present itself, I take it. I think one of the most challenging aspects of Run Norwich will be the heat, so I try and make running in hot weather part of my training plan.”

“Balancing a full-time job with being a dad allows for little time to train. I understand the importance of it though, so I go for runs when I can. There is some friendly competition amongst the team too, which helps motivate me to get out there. As long as I beat Tim, I’ll be happy!”

Run Norwich takes place on Sunday 21st July, we would like to wish all those taking part the best of luck. Don’t forget, we have a cheer station on Rose Lane!
