We get it. Interviews can be nerve-wracking. If you have an upcoming job interview with us, we’re here to tell you not to fret too much and to give you a few words of advice on how to prepare for your interview.
Our main, and most cliche piece of advice we can give is simply this: be yourself. We know you’ve heard and/or read this advice a thousand times before, but there’s a very good reason for that, it’s the best advice out there. The most important things we look for in candidates is personality and character. Of course, if you’re applying for a skilled position then we will also be looking for the relevant qualifications and/or experience required for the role, so make sure you bring along evidence of this, just don’t forget to bring your personality along too.
Here at Aston Shaw, our top priority is delivering an excellent service to all our clients. To deliver such a high standard of service, members of our team will need technical know-how and a friendly and personable approach. Qualifications can demonstrate the former, but they say nothing about you as a person – what we’re most interested in gauging from interviews is your personality.
While we value experience and qualifications, we value character and a willingness to learn far more. So, don’t worry about whether your accolades stack up against those of other candidates because what we’re really interested in is you, the real you, not just the you portrayed in your CV.
So, if you do ever have an interview with us, try not to worry too much. By being yourself, you’re automatically putting yourself at the top of our considerations. If you aren’t successful this time, keep in mind that we are open to re-interviewing candidates when other positions do become available.
