Since our inception in 1969, we’ve set out to be more than just accountants. One of the most recent (and most popular) ways in which we have been going above and beyond for our clients is through our Business Cost Reduction Service, delivered by our in-house team.
The team’s mission is simple: to ensure all Aston Shaw clients run their businesses as cost-efficiently as possible. They do this by reviewing your business’s outgoings, then liaising with our various partners and brokers in order to find you the best possible quotes for essential costs such as insurance, utilities and telecoms to name a few.
Without exaggeration, we can safely say that many of our clients have saved a small fortune through this service. This is all thanks to our small, yet hardworking team who we will now meet!
Scott Herd – Head of Business Cost Reduction
Scott joined Aston Shaw to head up the new Cost-cutting Service following an accomplished 30 years in Financial Services for Lloyds Banking, working across various roles including Senior Bank Manager and Customer Relationship Manager.
Scott’s vast background knowledge in the financial sector makes him an expert in understanding the client’s business needs as well as sourcing specialist partners to work alongside to provide the best service possible. His day to day roles includes overseeing the team, attending appointments with both new and existing clients and meeting business partners.
When he’s not working Scott enjoys playing golf, swimming with his daughter, Poppy, and family days out.
Helena Brackley – Business Manager
Helena recently joined Aston Shaw as Business Manager for the Cost-cutting Service, having previously worked as a Regional Field Support Manager for REL Field Marketing for four years, firstly for their Logitech account and then Whirlpool. Other experience includes running an airsoft company and working as a Special Effects Technician in the film industry for fifteen years.
As well as deputising for Scott when he is out of office, Helena works as an Account Manager alongside Rhys.
In her spare time, Helena enjoys long walks with her husband and their three dogs Marley, Leeloo and Floki as well as reading and binge-watching classic Sci-Fi TV shows.
Rhys Carter – Account Manager
As Account Manager, Rhys’ main role is to look after our clients and their business needs. Rhys oversees his individual client’s, diarising as and when their services are due for renewal and ensuring they are sent to our relevant partners within the appropriate timescale. Rhys will endeavour to keep a close eye on the progress of each renewal until complete keeping each client informed throughout.
In his spare time, Rhys enjoys playing football and tennis as well as gaming, reading, films and learning about science and history.
Nicki Mosely – Business Consultant
Nicki joined the team in March 2019 and deals with all of the client’s renewal quotes directly, working to obtain the best possible renewal prices either first-hand or with our business partners. Duties include; logging all new client information, overseeing each process from start to finish and dealing with any queries that may arise during that time.
Previous work experience includes working as a Project Manager for a Graphics company as well as various roles within The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Out of work Nicki enjoys spending time with her daughter Savannah, socialising, reading and (occasionally) running.
