Employers will receive a £1,500 grant per Kickstart job placement, helping you to help others.
Since our last campaign regarding the Government Kickstart Scheme, we have received a high volume of responses from employers. We want to let you know that we are still offering this service, and with the second lockdown and its potential impact on job security, you may be interested in applying.
The Kickstart Scheme is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs and aims to create hundreds and thousands of new, fully funded jobs across Britain. This scheme provides funding to employers so that they can create new 6-month paid work placements for young people currently on Universal Credit and who are considered at risk of long-term unemployment. This is a flexible scheme, and employers can spread the start date of the work placements up until the end of December 2021.
How We Can Help
Although this scheme can be accessed directly by employers creating positions for 30 or more individuals, this is not feasible for many employers. However, employers of similar sectors can pool together to make an application by using a Kickstart Scheme Gateway Organisation.
Here at Aston Shaw, we are in a fantastic position to help support local businesses to access funding by linking with a Kickstart Scheme Gateway Organisation. In this role, we collate all the information needed to submit an online application; if your application is approved, we pass on the relevant payments made by DWP to you.
Funding will cover for each job placement:
– 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week
– Relevant employer National Insurance contributions
– Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
An additional £1,500 per job placement will be available to the employer for setup costs, equipment, support, and training. This is to support young people to develop new skills and to help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart funded job.
