Accountants Skydive For Charity
Aston Shaw, a leading accountancy firm based in East Anglia has its sights on the skies, as 25 staff members will be skydiving from over 10,000 feet in aid of EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices).
The sky is the limit for 25 brave members of staff from the East Anglian firm who are taking to the skies on 22nd August for a sponsored tandem skydive to raise money for local charity, EACH. The Aston Shaw skydiving team has branded itself ‘One Jump EACH’ in homage to the charity and aims to raise a donation target of £10,000 over the course of the year. Staff members across all 5 Aston Shaw offices are taking part and progress can be followed via Aston Shaw’s social media pages using #OneJumpEACH. Dominic Shaw, Director comments: “Supporting a local charity is extremely important to us and I am proud that so many staff are taking part in our charity activity this year”. He added: “We’re really looking forward to the challenge ahead!”
One of the team members said: “This is a real challenge for me, as I have a fear of heights, but I am determined to overcome this fear whilst raising money for a cause I care a lot about.”
EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and relies heavily on donations from fundraising activities. The donation target of £10,000 will make a lot of difference: just £5 pays for art supplies for a session of specialist play, and just £10 can provide a meal for all family members staying at the hospices. £37 allows a child to benefit from an hour of music therapy, which is shown to have a range of beneficial effects such as lowering anxiety levels and promoting an overall sense of well-being.
